Gum Damar is mixed with pure beeswax and jojoba oil in our beeswax mix for making Beeswax Wraps. Damar helps to make the wraps more flexible and a bit sticky, is safe for use in foods, and has no known associated allergies. 
Damar is also used in incense, varnish, paint making, encaustic paints and other products. Damar varnish, made from gum damar mixed with turpentine, has for a long time been recommended for oil paintings, creating a glossy surface.
Damar is a hard natural resin that comes from 2 types of trees that grow in Southern Java and Sumatra.
